Barbi's impressive academic background shapes her counsel years after her graduation from college and law school. Accepted into the school's selective honors program at The University of Alabama at Birmingham, she graduated magna cum laude in three years. Enrolled at The University of Alabama School of Law, Barbi earned many leadership and advocacy awards. At her private practice in Opelika, she has been selected as a Super Lawyer has received an AV rating* by Martindale-Hubbell*. These awards are given only to the highest caliber attorneys.

Al, admitted to the Alabama bar in 1978, has a long and distinguished record as an attorney and a judge. Al has represented seven Alabama governors, three chief justices of the Alabama Supreme Court, four associate justices of the Alabama Supreme Court, and numerous circuit and district judges. He received a recent appointment by the Alabama Supreme Court to serve on its Standing Committee on the Alabama Rules of Appellate Procedure.
